Interview of the Month

Hannah Adams

Postdoctoral Fellow

Can you tell our readers why you chose to pursue a PhD as a career path? What made you want to pursue a PhD vs a Master's degree?

I actually got a terminal Master's degree at KU first, then decided to stay there for my PhD. I felt like the career opportunities for me were more limited with my Master's degree because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do clinical work full-time. I was interested in the research opportunities and the training opportunities, which pushed me to stay on for my PhD. It is interesting, though, to see the similarities and differences between the clinical work that some of my colleagues in my Master's cohort do and what I do!
